Punjabi Crossdock — How It Works Page Preview
How It Works

From Check-In To Dispatch, Step By Step

No guesswork, no waiting around for an update. Here’s exactly what happens to your load from the moment you book to the moment it rolls back out — and what you’ll hear from us at each stage.

The Process

Six Steps, One Dock Door At A Time

Steps 04 is only used when a load actually needs restacking or rework — most straight crossdock jobs skip it entirely.

01

Book Your Load

~15 min

Call dispatch or submit a quote request with your trailer type, freight details, and timing. We confirm a dock door, a rate, and a check-in window.

  • Confirmation number issued by phone, text, or email
  • Rate and estimated turnaround confirmed upfront
02

Check-In & Scan

~10 min

Driver arrives on-site, checks in at the gate, and the trailer is scanned against the bill of lading before being directed to its assigned door.

  • BOL verified against manifest
  • Dock door assignment confirmed on arrival
03

Sort & Inspect

30–90 min

Freight is unloaded, sorted by destination or pallet, and inspected for damage, shortages, or labeling issues before moving further down the line.

  • Damage or shortage flagged with photo documentation
  • Freight staged by outbound destination
04

Restack Or Rework (if needed)

1–3 hrs

If a pallet has shifted, a case is mislabeled, or a count is off, it’s corrected here — rebuilt, relabeled, or repaired to spec before reload.

  • Before/after photos on every correction
  • Skipped entirely on standard crossdock-only loads
05

Reload & Verify

30–60 min

Freight is loaded onto the outbound trailer and the count is re-verified against the updated paperwork before the doors close.

  • Final count matched against BOL
  • Load secured and trailer sealed
06

Dispatch & Documentation

~15 min

The trailer is dispatched and you receive final paperwork — updated BOL, photo documentation, and a dispatch confirmation — same day.

  • Digital paperwork sent within the hour
  • Direct line to dispatch for any follow-up

Common Questions

About The Process

Do I need to book ahead, or can I show up same-day?+
Same-day is usually fine for standard crossdock and restack jobs — call dispatch and they’ll confirm door availability before you head over. Scheduled or high-volume work is best booked at least a day ahead.
What happens if damage or a shortage is found during inspection?+
We stop, photograph the issue, and contact you before proceeding — you decide whether to rework, reject, or continue as-is. Nothing gets corrected or reloaded without your sign-off.
Can my driver wait with the trailer, or do they need to leave it?+
Either works. Most drivers wait for standard crossdock turns since they’re usually under four hours. For longer restack or rework jobs, drop-and-hook is available.
How do I track where my load is in the process?+
You’ll get a text or email at check-in, again if it moves into restack or rework, and a final notice at dispatch. You can also call dispatch directly for a live update anytime.
What if my load needs something outside this process?+
Call dispatch before booking. Most non-standard requests — hazmat, oversized freight, multi-stop consolidation — can still be accommodated, just with a custom plan instead of the standard flow.
